Access to information has become one of the most challenging aspects for governments and businesses. Whether it is controlling access to secure rooms, or access to information on computers, biometric technology allows for a more secure solution. Instead of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags which can be lost, stolen, or given away, biometric solutions such as fingerprint readers can provide that additional security a government or business needs.
The system includes biometric readers such as independent fingerprint scanners or integrated mouse scanners for computer access rights. In addition to the hardware, the software allows the granting of access rights and times for authorized employees. Because the system is centralized, rights can be changed remotely allowing for quick actions to be taken.
In the case of access control, the software allows management to control access to doors and times of access. Therefore if someone tries to enter during non-work hours, the system will not grant access and raise an alert.
